We're in Key West for the winter in a new motor home. We needed routine maintenance of engine and generator and at first PT had all the emergencies they could handle. We called a few days later and got scheduled for our service. junior was fantastic in his attention to detail and in making sure all the routine maintenance items were addressed. A few days later we had a completely unrelated issue with power distribution. We called PT and spoke with Jounior who we had learned had RV experience. JR. worked us through our problem and resolved our issue. Great service and personal attention.
And he's reasonable.
My Check Engine light came on and having recently moved to Key West, I wasn't sure where to take my van to have it looked at. I've had transmission problems in the past with my van so I was thinking this was another transmission problem and in looking online, found Paradise Transmission. I'm glad I did! Bob was great and was able to get me in and look at my van the next day. I definitely recommend Bob and Paradise Transmission for auto repairs.
Long story short, dropped it off Monday. I was told two days to take a look. I waited till Friday to give some time. First guy who answered the phone had no clue and just said aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh for 30 seconds before saying let me find out for you. The next guy on phone told me that he hasn't gotten a chance to take a look but he knows it's the transmission and it's going to cost me $2500 off the bat. I said no thanks don't touch it at all. Came Saturday to pick it up. Got charged $85 for what he said "I drove it around, looked under. sounds like a cable on the yadayadayada." In the back of my mind I'm thinking, what did I get charged for. Even I can tell you that the transmission is bad, SINCE IT'S NOT SHIFTING AT TIMES. Anyways, lesson learned. Lesson 1, If your tow truck driver says take it to so and so, don't believe him. Lesson 2, don't go to Paradise transmission. I mean if you think that it's going to take a couple of more days to take a look due to delays, then by all means have the courtesy and decency to call the owner. When you gave your WORD that you'll check it in 2 days, keep that promise. That's just good business. Enough said, you have been warned!!!!! Oh, btw, he gave me his "friend is interested" speech as I was going out the door. Lol, the nerve of some people. Welcome to Key West.... I'm from Maryland and New York and I thought I left the shady people up north but I guess they are just everywhere.
Bob just finished our van. He diagnosed the elusive problem and got it fix in record time (2 days).
And honest.
Paradise Transmission Service on MacDonald in Key West. On vacation in Key West leaving next day. Heard a grinding noise from passenger front tire area. Called 4 dealers and shops no help til next day - too busy, too busy. Called 5th shop who could look at end of day. Called Paradise Transmission Services, explained our time problem and car problem. Bob said bring in and he would check it out. His diagnosis was quick, accurate. Because mechanics had just gone to lunch, it might take 2 hours. He called back in an 1 1/2. Car was fixed. Highly recommend this business. When we needed him most, he was there for us.
