If they do try to reach out to me, I'll update my review to reflect that. My hopes are not very high sadly as I do not believe they value their customers.
Great sandwiches, very filling you could eat half the sandwich and be full. Specials on Wednesdays are usually the best of the week.
However, my most recent order placed on a Monday of 15 loaves (totaling $108) was accidentally "thrown out" by the owners 21 year old adult son. Accidents happen, I understand that. What I can not understand is when I call about my missing order on Thursday (it was supposed to be sent same day delivery as I am in the state of Florida), how I get HUNG UP ON for being angry my order was NOT fulfilled. Instead of trying to rectify the situation and try to keep my REPEAT business I was told repeatedly "I wasn't here. It wasn't me. Don't get mad at me. What do you want me to do about it?" from both the girl at the counter as well as the owner! They didn't even try to recollect my information to try and ship the order out immediately! They found it more beneficial to continue to escalate the situation by fanning the flames and enraging me further. My favorite excuse was "your order was taken by my 21 year old son, cut him some slack!" I didn't even take issue with the order being lost, nor with his demeanor! As a matter of fact, her son had better people skills than the two of these women COMBINED. He was very polite and very cordial. I have no doubt in my mind that he would have handled this incident better than the outcome I was served. Accidents happen...I UNDERSTAND THAT. My ISSUE is with them NOT APOLOGIZING for this mistake, REFUSAL to accept RESPONSIBILITY, and then to add insult to injury the owner HUNG UP ON ME! This is really unprofessional, very sad, and PISS POOR customer service. I'm all about supporting local businesses and seeing them thrive in our economy saturated with big box companies, even at paying a premium, but maybe they can take a page or two out of their Customer Service manuals in showing a little humility when making a mistake and troubleshooting problems. Feel free to visit this little gem and enjoy the offerings, but understand the honeymoon ends there. Phone orders and repeat business for that matter, are not appreciated and handled horribly. Now I'm off to apologize to everyone I promised a loaf of bread to that I spoke so highly about previously.
Have only been for breakfast, but have been more than 10 times over the past 7 months. Best bagel breakfast sandwich on Key West! Very consistent and delicious, always a fresh baked bagel, sandwich made to order. Very good coffee. Coles ties with Kims for me as the 2 best takeaway breakfasts in Key West based on taste, quality, consistency and service. Yes, it is inside of a restaurant supply store.
Beware of really TERRIBLE customer service!!!
"Is it free bread Day?" This is what was asked of my wife by an employee or owner of this establishment when you she walked out of the bakery with bread purchased from the Old Towne Bakery. Not, excuse me. I believe I forgot to ring you up? No! Down right confrontational! When my wife went back into the place to explain, all she received was a smug face. An apology would have sufficed. We all make mistakes. Let's hope this doesn't happen to other customers. As a home owner in Old Town we like to support the local businesses. This however is not a situation any customer would want to encounter.
Had one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken ciabatta special is insanely good.
Multigrain bread is amazing. Even ordered it several times and had it shipped to my home. Crazy I know.
