Got a great deal on a 2 day pass here after shopping the competition. Learned many historical things about the area thanks to our lovely guide, Arthur. With 8 stops on this hop-on hop-off tour, there's much to take in! We were fairly warned about wait times due to celebrations on Duval Street. Just fyi for newbies, there's a free bus that runs a loop around Duval.
While waiting for a tour trolley we saw 5 Old Town Trolley vehicles go by and 6 of the Conch Train Tours vehicles go by. The first stop off of the ship was in the sun mostly and there is no place to sit. When the trolley vehicle showed up, another City View Trolley also showed up. These were the only two we saw that day. At one of our stops a large group was waiting and there was no room for them on our trolley. They were very vocal that they had been waiting for 35 minutes. Pass on this company. They either don't have enough vehicles/drivers or they don't know how to run tours in a very high volume market.
Bought our tickets the day before at the welcome center. The hop on hop off feature was great. We did the whole tour first to see what there was. Then we got on when we were done a stop or got on when we were tired and needed the trolley breeze. The price can't be beat. Saves you the driving and parking hassle. The drivers were super nice, friendly and informative. I learned a lot about Key West while I was on this tour.
Personally, I wish I could.give them zero stars. Not worth the 40 dollars we wasted. Had to wait almost a half an hour and had to call the company. Was told due to a ship being in town, they only had 2 buses running. Driver was helpful at first with husband's wheelchair. It seemed like all we got on the tour was talk about discount coupons for things to do, the driver complaining about his wife, the cost of living in key west and how people need to move down there. We didn't see the need to stop for a half hour at stop 1. Total waste of time. We didn't get the full tour as we got off at stop 5. Was told the driver wasn't coming back with the lift trolley for at least an hour. I asked how far of a walk it.was to the hard rock cafe
Wait for the trolley is very long as some of the other posters mentioned. Wish I would have seen these reviews before purchasing. Do yourself a favor and go with Old Town Trolley. While waiting in the hot and humid weather, we saw 3 Old Town Trolley's come and go. However, the drivers were knowledgeable and this is definitely an issue with the owner and management not knowing how to run a trolley service.
He said it was about a mile and a half and not only gave me attitude about walking but said there is no way your going to be able to walk that far. Tried to convince me to go to the butterfly conservatory. It took us 17 minutes walking to get to where we needed to go and pushing a wheelchair. We saw him pass us once the entire rest of the day. Then we walked from hard rock back to the area we were being picked up at for our day trip bus. Wish I knew that I could have gotten my money back. Totally not.worth it.
