Took the family here and we all enjoyed the self guided tour. This ship has tons of history and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great activity for a rainy day.
Interesting ship, and quite a bit different from Wisconsin (a battleship) but not too different from USS Slater (escort destroyer). My son and I have toured all three now and all kept our interest. Ship is in pretty good shape, the staff was friendly and informative, and there were some good views of the boilers and turbines. There was a ship's history exhibit/museum with lots of good info about the ship, including a Victory at Sea on a loop with a clip of Ingham in action.
Saved by a former coast guard officer. Fabulous tour, took 2 hours. Amazing ship. Feel what is like to serve on the seas. Galley is a museum. Sunset on ship with bar.
Fun informative self-guided tour. Love our military!
It was an awesome ship!!! Me and my family went to the museum and my son was very interested. Friendly staff, cool displays, a bunch of awards, and even part of President Ronald Reagan's speech at the ship's decommissioning. It is a veteran of three wars: WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. My son got a cap he is very proud of. But my son does not know which ship had that five-inch gun next to the ship. It was cool anyway.
