Surprisingly good visit here. I was interested to see some artifacts from the ocean and got to hear the whole history of key west. I would Absolutely recommend this place!
It was ok. More expensive than it should have been for what's inside, even with the $5 off per person discount we used. The tower is currently closed due to Irma. The person we bought tickets from failed to tell us that, as did the "Ghosts and Gravestones" tour guide from the night before. I did hear the other employee telling people at the ticket counter (before they purchased tickets) that the tower was closed. The actor at the start of the tour here was talking super fast, and mumbling a lot, and I could barely understand half of what he said. I was glad he only gave us an intro to the place for the first 10-15 minutes, and didn't guide us through the whole place.
I expected it to be bigger and have more artifacts but I still really enjoyed it. The actors/staff were great and the museum was a nice place to visit. Children will definitely enjoy it.
Make sure you go check this place out. Very interesting and amazing artifacts and treasure finds here. Tower where one can go up top as well and see the beautiful view of key west!
They have lots of shipwreck memorabilia, if that is what floats your boat. For me it was a quick look and then out the door, but for others you could spend an hour or more here. They have a cute themed presentation, but if you're limited for time you might want to just wander around town.
