I have driven to Key West from Fort Myers.. That is one long drive!!! The one & only road heading out of the Keys is bumper to bumper on Sunday afternoon.
I will fly as it is MUCH faster, very little price difference, without putting up with puking drunks on the return trip. I will have an assigned seat, not be forced to sit on the floor while the crew hides in the cabin pretending that inconsiderate individuals aren't laying across multiple seats.
As someone who works full time & has little time to waste:
The trip BACK to Fort Myers is during the evening. There is no scenery, dead black view from the inside of the boat. All passengers MUST BE inside the boat after dark due to safety reasons. People with hang overs & drunks are puking in the nearest garbage can or on other passengers. Passengers who cannot tolerate the smell of puke are in turn, puking as well. This has been my experience on ALL 4 trips.
The trip TO Key West is enjoyable with live music, a partying atmosphere. Everybody is happy!
I have visited Key West 10 times, 4 by Key West Express.
In my 4 experiences, there were NEVER enough seats as some passengers hog 2 or 3 seats at a time. The crew does NOT look out for the passengers so, many end up sitting on the floor as they do not want to deal with tired drunks who may or may not punch them in the face when they are asked to move over.
The ride was smooth and the crew were great, as stated before arrive early on the return trip. The only bit of info do not rent golf carts or scooters from the business at the dock call around you'll save alot of money. The girl tried to lower the price and then raised it up after we were interested. We rented from Sunshine scooters and saved $100.
Everyone working on this boat did an amazing job and very pleasant to talk to as well. They put up with alot from guests but they are professional and got us to and from our destination without any issues. I would definitely use their services again. Thank you
Always friendly and organized staff. Clean, but busy. Snacks and cocktails make the trip fun. Recommend!
Due to Hurricane Irma she was out of work & incurred very high, additional living expenses due to MANDATORY EVACUATION.
I was shocked to learn that you refused to refund Mariah Rojas when she requested to cancel her tickets TWO MONTHS IN ADVANCE & charged her an additional $50 re-scheduling fee & a $39 parking fee.
There are airlines that fly in & out of the tiny but extremely hospitable KW airport. The price is not much different than the express when you consider the KW Express parking charge, etc. By flying, I am able to save at least 6 hours of round trip traveling time in comparison to the boat.
My first 3 trips with you were my last.
How could you NOT refund her tickets???
Flying is the way to go!
