If your looking for a quiet and unusual place to stroll, The Key West Cemetery is it. You can get a free map at the main entrance. It will highlight the most talked about grave sites. If you go in the midday bring a hat and sunscreen. There is not much shade here for the living , but fun none the less. There are lots of iguanas as well.
Lots of history; interesting to see how much concrete and above-ground tombs are used. There is a unique area in memoriam to Cuban freedom fighters. Lots and lots of huge lizards and iguanas around, sunning themselves on tombs.
MUST DO while in Key West. Take time to pay your respects and read the legendary Tombstones.
Peaceful cemetery. Beautiful variety of graves, rich in history.
