The black beans were from a commercial can and had no condiments and dry
The rice was cold and plain
The cortadito coffee had way to much sugar and tasted burnt (beerped it all day long)
The steak was flavourless, tough, with a funny smell, or I should say rotten (maybe not well refrigerated or simply old)
Really horrible experience.

Today, I felt like treating myself with a nice Cuban steak lunch and I was visiting Duval street in key West for the holiday weekend. I was born and raised in Cuba and really was looking forward to a nice lunch.
Dont get the french toast, it was a rookie mistake to get something that wasn’t cuban at a cuban cafe its like ordering a cheeseburger at a Chinese restaurant, you should always stick with what they are known for. First they used cuban bread and I get it , thats what they have already, but its not good for french toast, then it wasn’t cooked all the way, the outside looked good, but inside was a soggy raw egg mixture mess, moral of the story, stick to what you know
The waiter had a ssissi attitude and was covered of jewelry and wearing gym clothes (not very hygienic, not appropriate for food handling)
I complained to the waiter and his attitude was very disrespectful, he said:

Solid Cuban American food with a slant towards the American. Located in a tourist area so prices reflect that. Nice server.
Fantastic food! Best breakfast potatoes I have ever had! Pancakes were awesome!
I am not really sure that he meant? Are we supposed to eat badly in America? Really inappropriate answer if you ask me.
Tried Cuban coffee here for the 1st time and I was not disappointed. Delicious breakfast for a decent price.
